The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, the regulatory body for the healthcare sector in the emirate, announced the temporary closure of five healthcare facilities in the emirate and the suspension of their staff pending referral to the Public Prosecution for investigation. This came after monitoring the commission of grave violations during routine inspection and control operations carried out by the Department. The Department confirmed that these procedures are part of an integrated regulatory system aimed at ensuring that all healthcare facilities comply with the highest standards of quality and transparency, and that they were dealt with promptly and decisively to ensure they do not affect the health and safety of the community.
